APC versus Nigerian youths: Desperate times need desperate majors and the down fall of APC

By Sule Sani Sule

The All Progressive Congress (APC) and the leading party is one of the two famous political parties in Nigeria. It benefits a lot from youth struggles and activism.

Protests led by President Muhammad Buhari, donations of campaign funds to Muhammad Buhari through scratch cards, advertising APC and its agenda on social media are all part of vital roles that youths played in bringing APC to power.

Early 2017 they have been advocating for youths inclusion in politics, the ‘Not to young to Run’ bill signed by President Muhammad Buhari of the same APC motivate the youths to contest on various ground from political offices to party positions.

Considering the N.T.Y.T.R. law that was signed under the leadership of APC, youths hoped that APC will give them opportunities in order to perfect the law they created.

The largest party in Africa People Democratic Party (PDP) of blessed memory have been in leadership from 1999 to 2015, they lost to incumbent president Muhammad Buhari in 2015 and 2019 respectively.

The opposition party broke the record and supported the Not too young to Run physically by electing a young man of 25 years old as the Youth Leader of the party despite the fact that their opponent APC signed the law, something that has never been done in the history of Nigeria.

The PDP convention entirely was a success but the trending news about the convention was that of the youth leader, many people dose not even know the chairman but the youth leader is known by all and celebrated by all youths across party, tribal and religious line.

After the PDP convention all eyes were on the leading party APC, the party behind N. T. Y. T. R. but unfortunately the party seems to make it inevitable for youths to get opportunity in it's forthcoming convention.

The sales of form began yesterday and the youth leader and deputy youth leader among others are to purchase their forms at the sum of #5, 000,000.00. How do you expect a youth to purchase a form at the above mentioned price, so indirectly APC is telling Nigerian youths that it has used and dumped them and this is where conflict of interest may arise because the youths will retaliate and it will be a great setback for the party considering that 75% of every government is brought to be by youths and women.

We have capable and credible youths, intelligent and brilliant youths with the capacity to bring progress, development and new Ideas to any platform they belong to but the biggest challenge of this category of youths is financial challenge and that is what the leaders use in exploiting their capabilities. So as APC is planning to draw a war line between itself and the youths, we say best of luck.

DISRESPECTING COURT ORDER REGARDING KANO EMIRATE CRISIS

By Dr. Usman Suleiman Sarki Law and order are the bedrock of harmonious living in every human society.  This necessitated the establishment of judicial system responsible for the enforcement of law and order as well as the settlement of disputes between parties.  One most important organ of the judiciary is the Court that determines cases brought before it using appropriate legal procedures. In an effort to ensure the proper discharge of its duties, the court gives order(s) to individuals, group, organizations/institutions and state mandating them to refrain or undertake an action before or after judgement. In line with the above, a federal high court sitting in Kano received a petition seeking for its intervention on matters relating Kano Emirate Crisis as the state House of Assembly passed a bill for the dissolution of the Five Emirates in the state where the court gives an order restraining the Kano state Governor from assenting a bill into and implementing the...
