The quagmire behind youth politics and youths opportunist: Unmasking the youth leaders- By Sule Sani Sule

Part 1

His name is Bashir Ahmad a Personal Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Digital/New Media. He is an indigene of Kano State and he is aspiring for the seat of Member House of Representatives representing Gaya, Ajingi and Albasu Federal constituency.

I don’t have any problem with his candidature, my problem here is the word he used in his fliers "TAFIYAR MATASA" meaning Youths movement. Again it was written boldly below Good representation, New Ideas, Youth Inclusion and Innovation.

The above are all good ideas if only he means what he is saying but for me it is just a mere gist from a desperate politician who have taste the sweetness of power and is trying to be in the circle.

Bashir Ahmad of 2015 is not the same with the one we see today, he has been transformed magically, he has enjoyed the bounty and the sweetness of the presidency, he has gotten many opportunities that he used in advancing himself to the next level and nothing more.

Talking of Good representation, he is representing the youths currently because he is part of us, what has he done to transform the lives of youths in Kano? How many people were given offer through him? How many people did he empower among the youths?

Secondly, new Ideas as an assistant to the president he has not been able to develop any idea until he is elected Member??? Again, youth inclusion even within the barrender of his party so many credible youths are contesting for different offices, how many people have he supported or helped to achieve their goals?????

If you want to contest, you have the right to do that constitutionally but don't try to deceive yourself, there is nothing like youths movement. It is your movement, for you and yourself alone maybe your family and friends.

I see no difference between youths of his class and this old generation we are struggling to remove out of the code. So any youth that vote or advocate for this kind of people is doing nothing but limiting youth opportunity and sending representatives to tarnish our image.

DISRESPECTING COURT ORDER REGARDING KANO EMIRATE CRISIS

By Dr. Usman Suleiman Sarki Law and order are the bedrock of harmonious living in every human society.  This necessitated the establishment of judicial system responsible for the enforcement of law and order as well as the settlement of disputes between parties.  One most important organ of the judiciary is the Court that determines cases brought before it using appropriate legal procedures. In an effort to ensure the proper discharge of its duties, the court gives order(s) to individuals, group, organizations/institutions and state mandating them to refrain or undertake an action before or after judgement. In line with the above, a federal high court sitting in Kano received a petition seeking for its intervention on matters relating Kano Emirate Crisis as the state House of Assembly passed a bill for the dissolution of the Five Emirates in the state where the court gives an order restraining the Kano state Governor from assenting a bill into and implementing the...
