Coalition of Kano youths, under the leadership of Kano Concern Youths has appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to appoint former Senator representing Kano Central Bashir Garba Lado as minister and member of the incoming Federal Executive Council.
The youths believe that Senator Lado is the most competent and suitable candidate to represent Kano in the Tinubu’s cabinet, considering antecedents and his track records.
While addressing newsmen in Kano, the Convener of the group Musa Mujahid Zaitawa said, APC and Tinubu need the service of a dogged political gladiator, who played a key role for the victories of APC in the 2023 general election.
He added that good people of Kano state are dearly missing the representation of Senator Lado at the Senate, considering how he changed the narratives of the Kano Central Senatorial seat, in terms of representation and constituency projects.
According to him, Senator Lado performed wonderfully at the flow of the senate by presenting bills and sponsoring motions for the betterment of Kano and Nigeria.
“Despite serving once, Senator Lado made significant contributions to the development of Kano state, in the areas of Education, health, infrastructure, rural development, youths empowerment among others.”
“When he was appointed as the Director-General of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, Senator Lado run the agency exceptionally and made it vibrant to the extent that they got international recognition”
Speaking on the role of Senator Lado for the emergence of the 10th assembly leadership, Zaitawa explains, “He was among the first people that routed for the candidature of Akpabio and Barau as leaders of the Senate, and worked round the clock to ensure they succeed. Not forgetting how he united non- serving Senators to support the supremacy of APC.”
“ In view of this, We are calling on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to appoint Senator Bashir Lado as a minister, because we believe he is the best candidate that would represent Kano at the Tinubu’s federal executive council.”
