Deputy Senate President Senator Barau Jibril has donated 10 million naira to Tauba International Foundation, a non-governmental organization that focuses on promoting women education, especially Islamic education, in Kano State.
The donation was made on behalf of Senator Barau by his representative, Hon. Mujahid Zaitawa, at a fundraising event held in Kano on Sunday.
The event was attended by notable businessmen and philanthropists, including Alhaji Aminu Dantata, Alhaji Tajuddeen Aminu Dantata, and others.
Senator Barau, who spoke through his representative, Hon. Mujahid Zaitawa said he was impressed by the foundation's vision and achievements in advancing women's education in Kano.
He added that he was committed to supporting the foundation and other initiatives that would enhance the development of Islamic education in the state and the country.
Deputy Senate President Senator Barau Jibril urged the beneficiaries of the foundation's programs to make good use of the opportunities and resources provided to them, and to serve as role models and ambassadors for other women in the society.
Tauba International Foundation is owned by the famous business mogul Alhaji Aminu Dantata, who is also the founder and president of the foundation.
The foundation aims to improve the quality of life and social status of women in the state, by focusing on promoting Islamic education among youths and women.
