The fatal accident, which occurred in Kura Local Government Area of Kano State, involved athletes, officials, and support personnel who were returning home after proudly representing Kano at the national event. A group of youth members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed strong disapproval over the recent endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the 2027 general elections by some APC stakeholders in the Northwest, led by the National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje. The youths, under the leadership of activist Sadiq Ali Sango, criticized the stakeholders for failing to mention Vice President Kashim Shettima in their endorsement, describing the move as “divisive and dangerous” to the unity of the party.
