APC Youths Slam Ganduje for Endorsing Tinubu Without Shettima, Warn Against Dropping VP

A group of youth members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed strong disapproval over the recent endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the 2027 general elections by some APC stakeholders in the Northwest, led by the National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

The youths, under the leadership of activist Sadiq Ali Sango, criticized the stakeholders for failing to mention Vice President Kashim Shettima in their endorsement, describing the move as “divisive and dangerous” to the unity of the party.

Speaking to journalists in Kano, Sango warned that any attempt to drop Vice President Shettima and replace him with a candidate from the Northwest would destabilize the party and risk alienating the Northeast region.

He emphasized that such a move could cost the APC crucial votes and potentially lead to defeat in future elections.

“The Northeast played a significant role in bringing the Tinubu-Shettima ticket to victory in 2023. Ignoring this reality and sidelining Vice President Shettima will not be tolerated,” Sango stated.

The youth group reaffirmed their total commitment and support to both President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima, promising to mobilize support and work tirelessly for their joint ticket in the upcoming election cycle.

By Aliyu Dalhatu Adamu Department of Sociology, Federal University of Dutsin-Ma, Katsina State. The construction of 85km rural roads was flagged-off by the Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, on Monday 17th June 2024 at Madobi Local Government. The occasion afforded Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, Presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in the 2023 elections, an opportunity to ventilate his feelings on the forces in political contest in Kano State.  Many people believe that Kano is suffering great abuse in the tight grief of Kwankwaso as an alternate, if not the real, governor in his illegal Third Term. In his emotional outburst, the former Presidential candidate alluded to a number of issues, which many see as pointers to the inner workings of his mind, suggesting his political fortunes in the State are nose-diving or in the least taking a big hit. For instance, from the vituperations of Kwankwaso, one can easily understand that, the NNPP, as...
