Sadiq Sango Hails AA Zaura’s “Streets to Straight” Project for Transforming Vulnerable Youths

By Suhaib Auwal

The Tinubu‑AA Zaura Project 2027 has commended Abdussalam Abdulkarim Zaura (popularly “AA Zaura”) and his Foundation for their bold and timely initiative to rehabilitate vulnerable youths across Northern Nigeria.

In a statement issued in Kano, the project coordinator, Hon. Sadiq Ali Sango, lauded the Foundation’s partnership with the international humanitarian group Sadakatasi as a “turning point in the fight against youth disillusionment, street‑connectedness, and substance abuse.”

The collaboration, announced recently in Istanbul, is designed to support the Foundation’s flagship “Streets to Straight” project, aimed at rehabilitating socially displaced adolescents, drug‑dependent youths, and former gang members.

Sango emphasized that aligning the Tinubu‑AA Zaura Project 2027 with “Streets to Straight” is a strategic move to reinforce the broader national agenda of social reformation and youth empowerment under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

According to him, the support provided by Sadakatasi — including funding, psychosocial assistance, and capacity‑building resources — will significantly enhance the project’s ability to deliver measurable and sustainable rehabilitation outcomes.

He described AA Zaura as a “visionary philanthropist whose commitment to restoring dignity and hope to our youths resonates profoundly with the values of the 2027 Project.”

Sango added that the initiative seeks not only to reintegrate youths back into society but also to empower them academically and vocationally, giving them the skills and opportunities needed to build productive lives.

The coordinator further commended the speed and seriousness with which the Foundation and Sadakatasi have begun implementing the partnership.

He also called on governments, private sector actors, civil society organizations, and concerned citizens to rally behind the initiative, stressing that rehabilitation and social reintegration of marginalized youths is not the responsibility of any single group but a collective duty.

“We must seize this opportunity to restore hope to those many young people who felt abandoned,” he said.

With implementation already underway, the Tinubu‑AA Zaura Project 2027 under Sadiq Ali Sango is poised to play a key role in Nigeria’s effort to turn “streets to straight” and rebuild the social fabric in vulnerable communities.

Kwankwasiyya Rubble-Rousing Short-Wave Politics

By Aliyu Dalhatu Adamu Department of Sociology, Federal University of Dutsin-Ma, Katsina State. The construction of 85km rural roads was flagged-off by the Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, on Monday 17th June 2024 at Madobi Local Government. The occasion afforded Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, Presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in the 2023 elections, an opportunity to ventilate his feelings on the forces in political contest in Kano State.  Many people believe that Kano is suffering great abuse in the tight grief of Kwankwaso as an alternate, if not the real, governor in his illegal Third Term. In his emotional outburst, the former Presidential candidate alluded to a number of issues, which many see as pointers to the inner workings of his mind, suggesting his political fortunes in the State are nose-diving or in the least taking a big hit. For instance, from the vituperations of Kwankwaso, one can easily understand that, the NNPP, as...
