Kano By-Election: Sango Slams Ganduje Over Anti-Party Activities, Urges Tinubu to Take Action

The APC Youth Activist, Hon. Sadiq Ali Sango, has strongly criticized the party’s Former National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, and his close allies for anti-party activities during the recent by-elections in Kano State.

Sango, who served as an international observer during the election, alleged that the APC leadership failed to show commitment in the Bagwai/Shanono and Ghari/Tsanyawa by-elections, a situation that made the party fragile and ultimately cost it victory to the NNPP at Bagwai/Shanono constituency.

He accused prominent APC leaders in the state, including former APC National Chairman Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and his son Abba Ganduje, 2023 APC governorship candidate in Kano Nasiru Gawuna, and his deputy Murtala Sule Garo, Former State Minister for Housing Abdullahi Tijjani Gwarzo, for abandoning the party during a critical period.

Sango explained that “In this kind of situation, the likes of Ganduje, Garo, Gawuna, and Abdullahi Tijjani Gwarzo should have been at the forefront of APC’s campaign, following up to the collation centres and ensuring that results were protected in our favour. Yet none of them showed up or demonstrated any commitment. Therefore, we hold them responsible for losing the election.”

The youth activist further alleged that Ganduje’s leadership style was weakening APC in Kano, accusing him of “selling out the mandate of the party to the NNPP for selfish interests.”

Sango therefore called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to take decisive action against Ganduje, stressing that he should not be entrusted with the leadership of the party even at the ward level.

“We draw the attention of President Tinubu to this betrayal and urge him never to entrust Ganduje again with party leadership. He has failed the APC in Kano and must be held accountable,” Sango stated.

Despite his criticism, Sango reaffirmed his loyalty to APC and President Tinubu, pledging that youths in the party remain committed to ensuring the success of the administration at all levels.

Kwankwasiyya Rubble-Rousing Short-Wave Politics

By Aliyu Dalhatu Adamu Department of Sociology, Federal University of Dutsin-Ma, Katsina State. The construction of 85km rural roads was flagged-off by the Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, on Monday 17th June 2024 at Madobi Local Government. The occasion afforded Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, Presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in the 2023 elections, an opportunity to ventilate his feelings on the forces in political contest in Kano State.  Many people believe that Kano is suffering great abuse in the tight grief of Kwankwaso as an alternate, if not the real, governor in his illegal Third Term. In his emotional outburst, the former Presidential candidate alluded to a number of issues, which many see as pointers to the inner workings of his mind, suggesting his political fortunes in the State are nose-diving or in the least taking a big hit. For instance, from the vituperations of Kwankwaso, one can easily understand that, the NNPP, as...
