AA Zaura’s Bold Mission to End Drug Abuse and Political Thuggery in Kano

By Suhaib Auwal

In the bustling heart of Northern Nigeria, Kano State stands tall as a beacon of commerce, culture, and political vibrancy. Yet beneath its thriving surface lies a social crisis that threatens the moral and economic stability of the state, he scourge of drug abuse and political thuggery among the youth.

Amid this daunting challenge, one man has distinguished himself for his genuine passion and tireless commitment to confronting these issues: Abdulkarim Abdulsalam Zaura, popularly known as AA Zaura.

AA Zaura’s intervention in the fight against drug abuse and youth thuggery is not driven by political expediency but by a deep sense of social responsibility. He understands that the future of Kano rests in the hands of its youth and that empowering them is the most sustainable way to secure lasting peace and progress.

Through rehabilitation support, skill acquisition programs, and youth empowerment initiatives, Zaura has created avenues for transformation and hope among Kano’s most vulnerable populations.

His approach treats drug addiction not merely as a crime but as a public health and social challenge. By funding awareness campaigns and supporting rehabilitation efforts, Zaura has demonstrated that compassion and understanding are more effective tools than punishment and stigma.

He believes that when given opportunities, the same youth once dismissed as “troublemakers” can become agents of change and development.

On the political front, Zaura continues to champion issue-based politics anchored on peace, unity, and respect for democratic values. He has consistently spoken against political thuggery and youth manipulation during elections, stressing that true leadership is built on ideas, not intimidation.

His vision is to build a Kano where politics becomes a tool for service and empowerment, not division and destruction.

With this and many more of his projects, interventions, and missions geared toward youth development, empowerment, and moral revival, AA Zaura has proven to be arguably the most ready candidate to salvage Kano in the 2027 governorship election.

His record of service, empathy, and strategic leadership positions him as a beacon of hope for a state yearning for stability and purposeful governance.

The fight against drug abuse and political thuggery is far from over, but Zaura’s leadership offers a clear path forward.

His blend of compassion, discipline, and foresight provides not just an antidote to Kano’s current challenges but a blueprint for a brighter, safer, and more prosperous future.

Kwankwasiyya Rubble-Rousing Short-Wave Politics

By Aliyu Dalhatu Adamu Department of Sociology, Federal University of Dutsin-Ma, Katsina State. The construction of 85km rural roads was flagged-off by the Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, on Monday 17th June 2024 at Madobi Local Government. The occasion afforded Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, Presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in the 2023 elections, an opportunity to ventilate his feelings on the forces in political contest in Kano State.  Many people believe that Kano is suffering great abuse in the tight grief of Kwankwaso as an alternate, if not the real, governor in his illegal Third Term. In his emotional outburst, the former Presidential candidate alluded to a number of issues, which many see as pointers to the inner workings of his mind, suggesting his political fortunes in the State are nose-diving or in the least taking a big hit. For instance, from the vituperations of Kwankwaso, one can easily understand that, the NNPP, as...
