By Abba Anwar   Being from the Legislative arm, with outstanding performances, the Deputy Senate President, Barau I. Jibrin, makes extra effort to remind Nigerians the salient achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration, after rigorous and cumulative legislative engagements by the National Assembly.  This singular act from the DSP, of showcasing deliverables from Tinubu's executive responsibilities, speaks volumes of amplifying federal government feats, being achieved and at the same time, promoting cohesion, in many instances, between the two arms, legislature and the executive.  Without abandoning his legislative territory and responsibilities, he clearly understands the need for helping the executive to tell the electorate and beyond, how commendable and stressful are democratic dividends trickling down to the citizenry, in a globally challenging spaces. Uromi Killings, Barau's Intervention and Responsible Representation

By Abba Anwar   Before any note on the barbaric Uromi mob action, let me begin with prayer for The Almighty Allah to Bless and Forgive the gentle soul of Galadiman Kano, Alhaji Abbas Sanusi, the son of the late Emir of Kano and Grand Khalifa of Tijjaniyya, Sir Muhammadu Sanusi and the father of the Kano State Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Abbas.  Whenever I sighted the late Galadiman Kano, my mind naturally recollects the face of his respected and revered father, our Tijjaniyya guide, beacon of hope, an epitome of greatness and scholarship, Sir Sanusi, whom I was privilege to visit in both Azare and Wudil, with my parents, when I was much younger, but not toddling.  We had a tradition back in the family, that the younger ones were included in such visits turn by turn. So I was included in two visits to Azare and two visits to Wudil. Where the blessed hands of Sir Sanusi were on my head full with prayers. Alhamdulillah.  ALLAH YA JIKAN GALADIM...

A CALL FOR RESPECT AND UNDERSTANDING: ADDRESSING MUHAMMAD ABDULRAHMAN’S MISREPRESENTATION ON INUWA WAYA'S LETTER TO EMIR AMINU BAYERO

By Danlami Salisu It is imperative to address the misleading and disrespectful response by one Muhammad Abdulrahman Jikan Sallaman Kano Dako, Dan Ciroman Sallama, to the open letter authored by Inuwa Waya and directed to His Highness, Emir Aminu Ado Bayero. While the intention was to ignore the baseless remarks from an individual evidently ignorant of the subject matter, the need to clarify and correct falsehoods has become necessary. Firstly, it is crucial to highlight that Inuwa Waya, a respected elder and accomplished individual, is far beyond the age and standing of the writer. The unwarranted disrespect exhibited in the response underscores a lack of proper upbringing, internal discipline, and appreciation for cultural values. Such conduct does not reflect the esteemed norms of Kano’s traditional institutions, which are anchored on respect, dignity, and decorum. Furthermore, the poorly articulated response by Muhammad Abdulrahman reveals a clear misunderstanding of the origi...
