Ghali Naabba congratulates Barau, youth ask him to decamp to APC




Former House of Representatives Speaker and PDP bigwig Ghali Umar Naabba has congratulated Senator representing Kano North Barau Jibril for his emergence as Deputy Senate President of the 10th Assembly.

Ghali Naabba described Barau as a competent and hardworking lawmaker who distinguished himself by making significant contributions to the flow of the Senate, and his  constituency.

The former Speaker made this known when a coalition of Northwest APC Youths paid him a courtesy visit at his residence in Abuja.

Ghali Naabba recalled when they were together with Barau Jibril at house of representatives between 1999 to 2003, "Barau is a hardworking and experienced person, we worked together closely, and he gave immense contributions towards the development of his constituency, Kano state and Nigeria at large."

"Am not surprised to see him in this position, because of his vision, mission and zeal to move this country forward by bringing new projects and injecting new ideas to uplift the standard of our dear country."

"I am proud of him, and I will continue to work with him, support him, advise him and pray for him to succeed."

"Our country is in critical condition, therefore we must work together to salvage our dear nation,  I will make sure we work together with Senator Barau,and bring well-meaning politicians that would help him rebuild Nigeria."

Earlier the Convener of the coalition Musa Mujahid Zaitawa said they were sent by Deputy Senate President Barau Jibril, to notify the Former Speaker his decision to work with him as elder and veteran politician who is among the remaining contemporaries of late Abubukar Rimi.

"Deputy Senate President Barau Jibril wants you to join APC and revive the golden days of Santsi political camp of late Abubakar Rimi, we believe you are the only one that can bring back the Santsi ideologies, and put Senator Barau in the best position to be the true successor of Late Abubakar Rimi."

Zaitawa informed the Former Speaker how the coalition secured northwest votes for APC and Tinubu during 2023 general elections, and how they supported Senator Barau to become Deputy Senate President and Tajuddeen Abbas as Speaker of the House of Representatives.
