At a time when our nation is grappling with unprecedented socio-economic crises, our lawmakers have chosen to prioritize a symbolic gesture over substantive solutions. Nigeria is a state where: - Innocent lives are lost daily to violence and terrorism - Kidnappings and banditry are rampant - Education is in shambles - Healthcare services are inadequate - Corruption has reached an all-time high - Inflation is crippling - The Naira is depreciating And yet, our National Assembly deems it fitting to focus on a new national anthem. This is a cruel distraction from the pressing issues that demand their attention. Furthermore, the very structure of our legislature is flawed.
