Arewa APC Merger Group Warns Kaduna Gov. Against Brutalizing Dan Bilki, Calls for Immediate Investigation
The Arewa APC Merger Group has issued a stern warning to the Kaduna State Governor and others who believe that punishing, brutalizing, and molesting opposition members is a solution to their failures.
This warning comes in the wake of allegations that the governor ordered security personnel to molest Dan Bilki Commander, an APC member, for accusing the governor of betraying his predecessor, Nasir El-Rufai.
In a statement signed by the National Coordinator, Hon. Musa Mujahid Zaitawa, and made available to newsmen in Abuja, the group expressed their shock and disappointment over the governor's actions, especially given that Dan Bilki Commander is a member of the same party.
Musa Mujahid Zaitawa called for immediate action and a thorough investigation to ensure those responsible are held accountable.
"We are appalled by the actions of the Kaduna State Governor, who ordered security men to molest Dan Bilki Commander. Such behavior is unacceptable, particularly within the same party. We demand an immediate and thorough investigation to punish those involved, as a lesson to others," the statement read.
The group emphasized that violence and intimidation are not solutions to political disagreements or criticisms and warned the governor and others against such tactics.
Furthermore, the group advised Dan Bilki Commander and other members, especially those in opposition, to be mindful of their words to avoid unnecessary trouble.
The Arewa APC Merger Group's statement underscores the need for political leaders to engage in constructive dialogue and respect democratic principles, rather than resorting to coercion and violence against critics and opponents.
