Political Feud: Youth Backs Doguwa, Slams Jibrin

Arewa APC Merger Group Rallies Behind Rt. Hon. Alhassan Ado Doguwa Amidst Ongoing Dispute with Abdulmumin Jibrin.

The Arewa APC Merger Group, under the leadership of its National Coordinator, Hon. Musa Mujahid Zaitawa, wishes to express its unwavering support for Rt. Hon. Alhassan Ado Doguwa, Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Petroleum (Upstream), in the ongoing dispute between him and Abdulmumin Jibrin Kofa, a member of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).

This statement follows the recent exchange between Doguwa and Jibrin, sparked by accusations from Jibrin concerning Doguwa’s alleged involvement in violence during the 2019 elections.

We wish to categorically state that Doguwa has already been exonerated of all charges related to these allegations by multiple courts, including a Federal High Court in Abuja, which found him innocent of any wrongdoing in the Tudun Wada/Doguwa Federal Constituency during the 2019 elections.

Doguwa’s reputation and integrity as a public servant are well known, and the Arewa APC Merger Group condemns any attempts to tarnish his name with baseless fabrications and lies.

The courts and law enforcement agencies have thoroughly investigated these allegations and have unequivocally cleared him. It is our firm belief that the accusations being leveled against him are politically motivated, aimed at undermining his standing within the All Progressives Congress (APC) and in the broader political landscape.

We call on Abdulmumin Jibrin to cease making these baseless accusations and to address the unresolved allegations of murder and arson that are still hanging over him. It is imperative that he takes responsibility for his actions and allows the law to take its course.

The Arewa APC Merger Group stands firmly behind Rt. Hon. Alhassan Ado Doguwa, a man of proven integrity and a committed member of the APC. We urge all parties involved to allow the courts and law enforcement agencies to handle this matter with the seriousness it deserves, without interference or unnecessary public drama.

As tensions rise between political figures in Kano, we emphasize the need for greater accountability and honesty in political discourse. It is essential that we focus on the issues that truly matter to the people of Kano State, rather than engaging in destructive and unfounded personal attacks.

The Arewa APC Merger Group will continue to support Rt. Hon. Alhassan Ado Doguwa as he serves his constituents and our great party, the APC.

Kwankwasiyya Rubble-Rousing Short-Wave Politics

By Aliyu Dalhatu Adamu Department of Sociology, Federal University of Dutsin-Ma, Katsina State. The construction of 85km rural roads was flagged-off by the Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, on Monday 17th June 2024 at Madobi Local Government. The occasion afforded Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, Presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in the 2023 elections, an opportunity to ventilate his feelings on the forces in political contest in Kano State.  Many people believe that Kano is suffering great abuse in the tight grief of Kwankwaso as an alternate, if not the real, governor in his illegal Third Term. In his emotional outburst, the former Presidential candidate alluded to a number of issues, which many see as pointers to the inner workings of his mind, suggesting his political fortunes in the State are nose-diving or in the least taking a big hit. For instance, from the vituperations of Kwankwaso, one can easily understand that, the NNPP, as...
