According to him, two key factors have already guaranteed victory for Governor Abba: the renewed unity of purpose among members of the Governor's party, the APC, and the omission of the opposition NDC from the recently released INEC list. “Presently, with the unity of purpose among members of the Governor’s party, the APC, and the omission of the NDC from the INEC list recently released, Gov. Abba’s second term is already guaranteed,” he said. APC Youths Demand Nationwide Ban on Rarara’s Songs at Party Activities

The Coalition of APC Progressive Youths has called on the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to prohibit the use of songs by popular political singer Dauda Adamu Kahutu, popularly known as Rarara, at all party activities across the national and state levels. The group’s National Chairman, Hon. Sadiq Ali Sango, made the call in a statement issued to journalists in Abuja on Monday. Sango alleged that Rarara’s songs have become more detrimental than beneficial to the ruling party, accusing the singer of using abusive language and divisive messages that undermine unity within the APC. According to him, rather than promoting harmony among party members, Rarara’s style of political music has fueled hatred and deepened internal divisions. He further alleged that the singer has repeatedly targeted senior party leaders and elders with insulting lyrics, describing such conduct as inconsistent with the values and principles of the APC. The coalition also accused Rarara of sponsorin...

How Umar Haruna Doguwa Is Uniting Kano APC for Tinubu and Governor Abba to Succeed in 2027 Elections

By Sadiq Ali Sango As political activities gradually gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections, the importance of party unity cannot be overstated. Political parties that enter elections divided often struggle to achieve their objectives, regardless of the popularity of their candidates.  In Kano State, one of Nigeria’s most politically influential states, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Umar Haruna Doguwa, appears to have made unity the cornerstone of his leadership. Since assuming office as chairman of the Kano APC, Doguwa has devoted considerable energy to reconciling party members, strengthening internal structures and restoring confidence among stakeholders.  His leadership style has been characterised by consultation, inclusiveness and constant engagement with party leaders and grassroots members across the state. One of the notable developments under his leadership has been the return of key political figures to the APC.  The decision...

The Cyber Campaign Against Sen. Abdulaziz Yari: Facts, Politics, and the Danger of Digital Misinformation

By…… In recent days, Senator Abdulaziz Abubakar Yari has found himself at the centre of a renewed wave of online allegations ranging from claims of involvement in a supposed ₦1.7 trillion financial scandal to viral videos circulated by activist Dan Bello linking him to corruption and illegal gold dealings. While public accountability is essential in any democracy, the pattern emerging around these accusations raises serious concerns about digital misinformation, political targeting, and trial by social media rather than by competent investigative institutions. The ₦1.7 trillion allegation being circulated online is not new. It is part of a series of claims that have appeared repeatedly in different forms across blogs and social media platforms. Some reports link large financial flows and corporate acquisitions to Yari, but these remain unproven allegations without any final judicial conviction or official court ruling confirming wrongdoing. In fact, multiple reports and counter-stateme...

Kano APC’s Crisis and Senator Barau's Masterclass in Political Maturity

By Ado Isa Jagaba The persistent turmoil within the Kano State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has, once again, starkly exposed the deep-seated faultlines dividing the party. Yet, amidst this chaos, a quieter but far more instructive story is unfolding—the dignified restrain and profound political maturity demonstrated by the Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, CFR, in the face of sustained internal betrayal. In 2021, during the crucial APC State Congress, Senator Barau, then a serving Senator and Chairman of the powerful Senate Committee on Appropriations, was systematically denied any meaningful influence. He was refused even an ex-officio slot at the ward, local-government, and state levels. Furthermore, his known allies were barred from serving as supervisory councillors, political advisers, or special assistants, with any identified supporter being ruthlessly sidelined. However, instead of engaging in public retaliation or fueling the interna...

Former Kano LG Chairmen Call for Unity, Warn Against Early Endorsements in APC

The Association of Former Local Government Chairmen in Kano State (ALGON Integrity Group) has called on members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to remain focused and united, stressing that this is not the right time to endorse any governorship aspirant ahead of the 2027 elections. Speaking through its Chairman and former Kumbotso LGA boss, Hassan Garban Kauye Farawa, the group cautioned party stakeholders against actions capable of creating division within the APC. Farawa said the party must prioritize strengthening its internal structures and consolidating its support base, especially as Kano remains a strategic political battleground. Farawa dismissed reports alleging that former LG chairmen had endorsed the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, for the 2027 governorship race. He described the claims as misleading and capable of causing unnecessary tension within the party. According to him, the focus of every committed APC stakeholder at this stage sho...

Re-Ex commissioner chides NNPP Government on poor budget performance in 2025

By Umar Haruna Doguwa It baffles me to read the recent press statement by one Muhammad Garba, chief of staff to the removed APC Acting National Chairman making several false allegations on the credible Abba-led administration’s 2025 budget performance. Generally, the claims are selective, politically motivated and a mere renting of a dismissed politician on exile that omit critical facts about the sad realities inherited by the current government from the disgraced Ganduje’s administration and the progress made within this short period under review. 1. Selective Interpretation of Budget Performance It is misleading to evaluate capital budget performance for January–September without acknowledging the following realities: • Budget releases are phased, not done in a single cycle. • Many capital projects took off fully only in Q3 and Q4, so judging performance before the completion of the fiscal year presents a distorted picture. 2. Water Sector: Facts Ignored While Garba points to a 13% ...
